Most families today are caught up in a hectic whirlwind of activities & getting quality family time isn’t easy when your family is scattered in all four directions. Time slips by as we rush from here to there as we juggling jobs, running the household, chauffeuring our children, our parents, relatives and spouses to work, school, appointments and commitments. Yet, we know that spending quality time together is the best way to show each other that we care. So how do we squeeze in quality family time when our schedule is so hectic?

Chances are if you are this busy, you have a schedule that you run by…actually haveing a schedule will help you to visualize when you can squeeze in time whether it’s just 5, 10 or 30 minutes to focus on each other and stay connected. I’m sharing a few of my own tips along with a few of Meredith Sinclar’s to help you get the most out of your quality family time.
The Drive
Family time can take the form of a conversation or game on a 10-minute ride to school or the grocery store. Push for carpool time to be a “no phone zone.” Those quick trips to and from school and during errands are the perfect opportunity for light-hearted conversations that connect the “what-did- you-do- today” dots or even grab a snack of some granola and Juicy Juice Splashers.
Do Chores Together
They need to get done which can take away from precious quality family time, so why not do them together. You wash the kids dry, you can fold laundry together etc. This gives you the opportunity to not only get your housework done, but it also gives you the opportunity to catch up and teaches your kids responsibility.
Read Together
Reading to your children is always a great idea, kids love the quality time and it help grow their vocabulary & cognitive abilities…but as they get older this might not always be a welcome option. Reading next to each other for 20-30 minutes and discussing the book is another great way to get in some quality time.
Have Tea Time
Having a quick tea time is not only relaxing but gives you time for a little chit chat and snack. Chances are your kiddos don’t drink tea so a Juicy Juice 100% Juice is always great to have on hand. Dinner
Make it a point to leave work or schedule work a little later into the night so you can make dinner together a priority. Make Sunday “Family Day”
Since Sunday is the only for sure day that my husband has off, we have dedicated this day as Family Day. NO ONE is allowed to make other plans (with exceptions depending on activity). It’s a great day to catch up, try out some craft projects like this upcycled DIY craft using empty Juicy Juice boxes, or get the kids involved in dinner or snack time with easy-to- make recipes for busy families.
Movie Night
We love a good movie night in our house. We usually make it a theme night so all snacks/foods relate to the movie we are watching. One of their favorite snacks is my Bacon Cheddar Ranch Deviled Eggs that we made for our Angry Birds movie night, delicious and plenty of protein for growing kiddos. Tom Brand (Kevin Spacey) is a daredevil billionaire at the top of his game. His eponymous company FireBrand is nearing completion on its greatest achievement to date – the tallest skyscraper in the northern hemisphere. His GPS directs him to a mystical pet store brimming with odd and exotic cats- where the store’s eccentric owner- Felix Perkins (Christopher Walken), presents him with a majestic tomcat, named Mr. Fuzzypants.
En route to present his daughter with her dream pet, a bizarre turn of events finds Tom trapped inside the body of Mr. Fuzzypants. Adopted by his own family, he begins to experience what life is truly like for the family pet, and as a cat, Tom begins to see his family and his life through a new and unexpected perspective. Meanwhile, his family adjusts to life with an odd and stubborn cat, and his son David (Robbie Amell), steps up in ways Tom never expected.
If any hope exists of returning to his family as the husband and father they deserve, Tom will have to learn why he has been placed in this peculiar situation and the great lengths he must go to earn back his human existence.

This is an easy recipe that even you kiddos will love!
1 cup fresh spinach or half of a frozen brick 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil 1 tbs finely grated lemon zest 1. In a large pot of boiling water, cook pasta according to package instructions. In last 2 minutes of cooking, add in your spinach and cook until pasta is done. Drain 2. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk together oil, garlic, lemon zest, salt & pepper (to taste). 3. Add sausage to skillet and cook over medium high, until edges start to curl and is a nice golden brown. Remove from heat, place pasta into a large bowl, mix in sausage, pour in oil mixture and mix well. Sprinkle with cheese if desired!
