When you’re looking to turn your life around, it is widely known that you have to experience the very pits of life before you can climb out the other side. When we looking for that almighty purpose in life, the one major obstruction is, very simply, ourselves. Our mental health can stop us doing the things we want to do, choosing the path that we should take in life, and can threaten to envelop us in every way. And if you’re someone who has struggled with your own mental health for so long, there are always tools out there to help you, but if these aren’t producing the desired outcome, what can you do to get you on the right path?
Achieving Perspective
We’re all individual, and if we get a better understanding of our own mental anguish, especially in comparison to what others are going through, it gives you a more inherent understanding of how best to beat it (or live with it) or a sense of perspective. It can be sobering to see exactly how we rank in the pecking order of mental anguish. And yes, this isn’t a solution for everyone, but when we begin to walk that road to wellness, the combination of the appropriate tools, as well as that ability to gain perspective, not just of oneself, but of others, can be the key to improving your life. For example, counselors and psychiatrists are actively encouraged to go through the therapy process themselves, not just so they have a clear palate, but they have gone through the process of dissecting their own emotions, no matter how painful they are. When we’re looking at fixing our own mental health issues, the term “battle” may feel loaded with connotations. But much like an addict is an addict for life, even if you feel the Black Dog has gone for a walk, it could very well come back. Now, not to say that we should live in the shadow of fear, but it’s about using the times when we are out of the shadow to prepare our minds, just on the off chance it returns.
It is a long journey, but it’s one that we can all learn to navigate. Now, the mental health discussion is more prominent than ever, but while there are some still reticent to talk about it, if those of us who haven’t addressed our mental health issues, achieving perspective and learning the tools to engage in battle can mean we will understand how best to control it.

There are many of us that will get inflammation and it will impact our skin. Some people use ice packs or cooling products, or the classic cucumber on the eyes to help soothe. But there is another hack that works for inflammation on your skin, and that is salt. We all have some of that at home, right? Salt is something that is known for its antibacterial properties, and it does help to pull out excess oils from the skin. So it is a great way to help clear spots and help inflammation. You can take some salt to make a paste with water, and then apply it to the problem areas, and then wash off with warm water.
Use a toothbrush
Using a toothbrush is a no-brainer for your teeth, but it can also be a good idea to use one on your lips. If you have lips that dry out, not matter what lip balms you use, then this is a hack that can work for you. Wet a toothbrush, and then gently massage your lips in circles until the dead skin starts to simply drop away. This really helps to make smooth lips (just follow up with a hydrating balm or cream afterwards).
Cotton Buds
Cotton buds are a must in your beauty bag. They are great to use as a way to smudge makeup, and apply eye makeup, and they can also be used as a great way to dab up makeup if there are things like mascara that has clumped up or smudged under your eyes. Some people use cotton buds for ear cleaning, but really, you should seek professional advice when it comes to that. In order to be more eco-friendly, then you should look for bamboo buds or cotton buds that are paper, rather than plastic.
Reduce Blackheads with Eggs
We don’t need to have anything expensive to clean your face or get rid of blackheads. Those strips can really add up, but not really make much of a difference. One thing that you need is eggs and some tissues. If you whisk up one egg, and then make some layers on your face with egg, then tissue, then egg, and then tissue, and leave it to dry, it can make a difference. After half an hour, then move the homemade mask, and it can take blackheads with it, and you’re likely to have eggs in the house.

INGREDIENTS:
3 oz Orange Juice
1 oz Orange Liquor

INSTRUCTIONS:
Use shaker with ice to mix Orange Juice & Orange Liquor.
