Did you know there are 9 bras every girl needs? This was news to me too. Just like many women out there, I only own a few types: the underwire (the uncomfortable one that you can’t wait to take off when you get home) in full coverage and demi, and a couple of sport bra types. However, the world of bras is much more diverse, and finding the right bra can be a daunting task.

Breaking Down the 9 Essential Bras

Let’s dive deeper into the 9 bras every girl needs. Here’s a detailed explanation of each type and their unique benefits.

Underwire Bras

Underwire bras, available in full coverage and demi, provide excellent support and shape. Full coverage bras are ideal for larger breasts, while demi bras offer a sexy, low-cut style perfect for lower necklines.

Sports Bras

Sports bras are a must-have for any active woman. They provide support during physical activities, reducing discomfort and potential damage to the breast tissue. Look for ones with moisture-wicking fabric to keep you dry during intense workouts.

Strapless Bras

A strapless bra is a lifesaver when you’re wearing a tube top, off-shoulder dress, or any outfit where visible straps are a no-go. They come with removable straps for added versatility.

Balcony Bras

Also known as balconette bras, these bras have wider straps and a horizontal cup cut, creating a square neckline. They offer a natural lift perfect for low-cut tops.

Plunge Bras

Plunge bras are designed with a low center, allowing you to wear deep v-neck outfits without the bra showing. They also enhance cleavage, making them a popular choice for date nights.

T-shirt Bras

T-shirt bras are seamless and designed to be invisible under tight-fitting shirts. They offer a smooth silhouette, making them a wardrobe staple for every woman.

Minimizer Bras

For those with larger breasts who wish to reduce their bust appearance, minimizer bras are the answer. They redistribute breast tissue to make the bust appear smaller and more proportional to the body.

Adhesive Bras

Adhesive bras stick directly to your skin, providing support without straps or bands. They’re the go-to option for backless or sheer outfits.

Bralettes

Bralettes are lightweight, wire-free bras that prioritize comfort while still providing support. They come in various styles, making them a stylish option for lounging or casual wear.

Understanding Your Bra Size

Knowing your correct bra size is crucial for comfort and support. It’s recommended to get professionally measured at least once a year as weight fluctuations can alter your size.

The Importance of Proper Bra Care

To extend your bras’ lifespan, proper care is essential. Hand-washing is the best method, but if you must use a washing machine, use a lingerie bag. Always air dry your bras to prevent damage to the fabric and underwire.

  • Why Your CFO Just Approved $50K for Halloween Candy: The Gourmet Gift Basket Revolution Nobody Saw Coming

Halloween is a holiday celebrated on the night of October 31st, and one of our favorite holidays. Its origin goes back to the Celtic festival known as Samhain, which was a celebration of the end of the harvest season. The Celts believed that on October 31st, the boundary between the living and the dead disappeared, and the dead could become dangerous to the living by causing illness, damaged crops, as well as other problems. Costumes and masks were worn at the festival to mimic the evil spirits & placate them.
So today we still continue the costume tradition in a whole new way. Our little ghouls go out and spook houses for buckets of Halloween goodies. But Halloween is not just for kids. For college students and young adults away from home, you can send them a surprise gift basket from Gourmet Gift Baskets!

The boys were thrilled each time we opened up a box to see the Halloween goodies that were waiting inside. With each open their eyes got wider and there excited was more and more. The popcorn was a nice surprise. My husband loves King of Pop popcorn flavors. In this box we received Buffalo & Confetti. The buffalo is not my cup of tea, so I’ll have to take his word for it that it’s good. The confetti is a caramel corn in 5 different colors. This tower has treats for every taste. The chocolate and skittles were a favorite by everyone.

  • Disney in Concert: A Silly Symphony Celebration #D23Expo #SillySymphony ⋆ My Sparkling Life

Growing up I remember some of my favorite cartoons being set to music…no words were ever needed to create the feeling they were made for, and up until a week ago I never knew what they were called (sad I know). LONG before I watched these cartoons, or shorts, back in the 1920’s and 1930’s, Disney Silly Symphony shorts played in movie theaters before the main feature. 75 Silly Symphony shorts were made, usually performed by a 32-piece orchestra! Due to limitations in technology, each piece has to be played perfectly in one sitting or they had to start over to try again. Some amazing advancements were made using these shorts…The Skeleton Dance was the first musical animation and Flowers and Trees was the first full-color animation using Technicolor.
Disney in Concert: A Silly Symphony Celebration
Last week at the D23 Expo 2015, we were able to sit in on Disney in Concert: A Silly Symphony Celebration with a LIVE ORCHESTRA! This was a 32 piece orchestra which is what would be similar to what it would have been for the recording, and original viewing, of an original Silly Symphony films.
This event was hosted by Leonard Maltin and music was performed in synchronization with the original Silly Symphonies shorts being shown on two screens. It really was quite exciting! It’s been quite a long time since I’ve been able to listen to a live orchestra, and to have it go along with cartoons/shorts that I remember as a kid was a once in a lifetime event!
This D23 Event was in honor of the release of The Silly Symphony Collection box set. This set features restored soundtracks from the 75 Silly Symphony shorts from 1929-1939 on 16 vinyl LPs. If you are an LP collector like my hubby, this is a set you will want to have!
This event was part of an all expenses paid press trip to Anaheim for the #D23Expo, all experiences and opinions are 100% my own.

  • Helping Veterans | 5 Ways To Give Back To Active Military & Vets #DECares

Everyday we wake up to the birds chirping, the kids running around and go about our daily lives most of us not even thinking about the sacrifices some make so that we can live those lives. I have several members in my family who have proudly served their country including my grandfather..
    dad..
    & two of my cousins..
I was able to sit down to talk with them & a few other active members and discuss the ways you & your kids can give back to active military & vets.
Write a letter thanking them for their service and sacrifice, while some of our elder vets had no choice to serve, people today choose to serve for many reasons…no matter the reason, be to get out of a small town, travel the world, duty, or because they were inspired by a previous generation and wanted to follow the tradition..they all serve their country honorably and deserve to be thanked.
Draw a picture – have your kids draw pictures..even getting the class involved and sending over a package full of pictures or taking them to your local VA to brighten up their day.
Send a care package…simple things that we take for granite everyday like, twinkies, Doritos, Magazines, Soaps, Phone Cards & even things like Halls Drops are missed and getting a care package of things from home helps them to not feel so home sick.
Donate to causes like The Wounded Warrior Fund..a wounded warrior doesn’t always have a physical wound, PTSD is a big problem with returning soldiers, and it takes them getting help from qualified individuals for them to return to their “normal” lives.
Find local events or facilities to volunteer at..Soldiers Angles, MWR, and USO programs always need voluteers
The people over at Direct Energy are also committed to giving back to those who have given so much to our country. They recently launched a military portal, which is a dedicated space in which military personnel can find discounted energy rates for their home energy needs. On top of that, once you’re a Direct Energy Customer, you’ll have access to their on time bill payment rewards program, Refer-a-Friend Program, easy on the go Online Account Manager and more. These plans were created solely to help military members & veterans save money on their home energy needs!
To be eligible for these discounted military rates, you must enter a valid ID into the portal. Once verified, you will then be directed to a dedicated military plans page. You will then see plans available in your area.
The Direct Energy Military Portal is a great way for active military, veteran’s and their families to save money with exclusive military rates! If you have an active duty service member or veteran in your life, be sure to tell them about this great service.
How would you or do you help the military personnel in your community?
