About a month ago, you might have heard me screaming because not only was I headed to the ultimate Disney Fan event, D23 Expo, but I also found out we would be heading to Disneyland to celebrate their 60th Anniversary!! I’ve been to Disney World once when I was 17, so I was so excited to be headed to Disneyland and the Diamond Celebration just made it that much more special!
Disneyland turned 60 on July 17, but just like when we celebrate our “birthday week” Disney is celebrating all year long, which makes this an amazing year to plan a trip.
Like most Disneyland newbies, I wasn’t sure where to start..what rides are not to be missed, where to eat, where to shop etc. So thank goodness there were a few Disneyland experts on hand to guide us through our Disneyland experience!

The World of Color was an amazing show in California Adventures at the Paradise Pier. The fountains come alive in this one of a kind show. This one-of-a-kind nighttime extravaganza, World of Color features nearly 1,200 fountains—shooting water up to 200 feet in the air—to create a 19,000 square-foot projection “screen.” The soaring music that accompanies the images is equally momentous, as are the stunning fire, fountain, fog and laser effects.

To enjoy the parade, fireworks spectacular and the World of color, you really need to plan at least 2 nights in the parks. The World of Color happens in California Adventures the same time as Disneyland Fireworks Spectacular, and the (first) Light The Night Parade. However, if you move quickly though, you can view World of Color and make it over to Disneyland immediately afterward in order to catch the second parade. You can also see the fireworks from California Adventure, but you really need to be by the castle to get the full experience of the show.

Each product has a wonderful scent! My favorite is the b•passionate! The scents are all light and not overwhelming. The shampoo is thicker than your normal shampoo, and lathers up nice. My hair looks and feels healthy, it’s shiny and doesn’t turn dull during my day, & I haven’t noticed any fading while using this shampoo. I really liked how the body wash has little beads of moisturizer in it. I love how they burst open when I use the wash. Plus, the body wash doesn’t dry my skin, which some body washes I’ve used tend to do.

I was provided a behind the scenes look at Papa Murphy’s from BSMMedia & Papa Murphy’s, however all opinions are 100% my own!
Tuesday I had the opportunity to go to a local Papa Murphy’s Pizza and look behind the scenes! I really had fun and learned a lot! I would love to give you that behind the counter look too!
What is Papa Murphy’s Pizza? Papa Murphy’s is a Pizza restaurant, but different than other local pizza restaurants. At Papa Murphy’s you can call in or stop by and order your freshly made pizza. Then you “take” it home and “bake” it when you’re ready. This is perfect for busy families, just pick one up on your way home, pop it in the oven for 12min..you have dinner! First thing when I arrived they had orange juice and chocolate chip cookies (YUM) to fill my tummy! They also made a super delicious cinnamon wheel that I got to try…OMG! It’s like a slice of heaven! Since I had never even been to a Papa Murphy’s I had a lot to learn!
Next up, was a look at all their toppings, which are super fresh! Their fresh produce was delivered and right away washed and ready for prepping. They sliced and diced everything right there in store!
Ok, it’s not the fresh veggies, but it looked sooo good!
You know what else is fresh? Their pizza crust. They also make their crust in-house and let it rise for a day, and then it is made and served the next day! I got to watch the whole process that day and it was really neat to see.
Once the crust was ready, I got to create my own signature pizza! It was a so much fun, and I created a really delicious pizza!
I got to make the Family size…What size would you need?
I’m not to creative when it comes to pizza, so I just created a Family size meat pizza, something everyone would love!
Now here are some fun facts that I learned that day! And there was a lot to learn.
Papa Murphy’s loves helping out their community. They offer fundraising programs to local community groups, such as selling Peel-a-Deal cards to family, friends.

The pizza was really good that night too!! We just threw it in the oven for 12 min and we had a delicious dinner! The family size was a lot bigger than I was thinking too…I thought we would need more to satisfy my boys, but everyone had 3-4 squares (yes I cut it in squares, it was that big) and seemed to be satisfied…I hope you give Papa Murphy’s a try if you haven’t already, I think you will love it as much as we do!

This isn’t a case of I did chores you’re going to do them too. It’s not even about punishment or earning an allowance…because they don’t. It’s about respect for the home you live in and learning responsibilities. Sure I may get the shit looks as if they want to gouge my eyes out with one of my heals…but in the long run I know they will thank me for teaching them these lessons…
Perhaps when I’m on my death-bed?
Life is full of fun responsibilities like paying bills and getting your kids to school on time, what happens if I just wanted to go out and play instead? Like on the computer as they so say I’m ALWAYS doing.
The bills would stack up like those dishes and start growing that funky white mold..I mean late fees.
I see their friends impatiently pacing outside as my kids begrudgingly do their chores..and it’s not like they clean the whole house here people! Since there is two of them doing chores (currently) they switch chores every other day…one day dishes/kitchen the other day floors/straighten living room + keeping their room clean.
Truly, I think that is where I broke the camels back!
Asking them to clean their room!? How dare I! I mean I’m the one that goes in there and tosses their clothing on the floor or pulls all the books and colored pencils off the shelving, I should pick it up right?
Maybe I should just let one of the pencils penetrate their foot…have a costly hospital visit and then apologize for not picking it up sooner.
I understand there is only so much daylight after school, but I also understand the importance of them doing my job…I mean learning responsibility. There are days where I will spend my day doing their chores (way better than they would ever do them btw) so when they come home they just have to drop their things and run…
Far Far Away
But, it hurts my heart because I don’t even get a Thanks Mom…you’re so awesome! Nope, not even one. I get instead a “what’s for snack?” or better yet the slam of the door as they take off to do what ever it is these kids on the streets do these days.
Despite the grunts and groans and impatiently waiting friends, who have no responsibilities, my kids will continue to do their chores
And LOVE it.
Because I’m trying to raise responsible young men who have respect for themselves, others and the places around them. I feel good knowing I’m sending them off into the world knowing how to do dishes, cook, clean, vacuum, and do laundry…
ohh! I almost forgot! My oldest mows the lawn now…thank god! But he’s also turned it into a business around the neighborhood…
SEE! RESPONSIBILITY!
I have the RESPONSIBILITY to raise 4 young men to be responsible, respectful fully grown men…and I’m not letting that lag anytime soon.
