I highly recommend surprising the new daddy in your life with a little gift of his own, especially the scrubs! So cute that he can be in the delivery room in his “I’m The Daddy” scrubs! The scrubs come in three colors..Navy, Green and Khaki. They are made of 65% polyester, 35% cotton and fit a little snug ( I got hubby a 2x his normal size and it was a little snug around the chest area ). The tee shirt is made of 100% cotton and fit true to size. The hat and tee have been worn multiple times and makes him proud every time he puts it on. He uses his “I’m the Daddy” mug with his coffee every morning and uses his pens at work. This has been such a great gift set that last long past the hospital stay!

If you’re trying to grow your hair out, the wait can seem like it’s taking forever to get to the length you want. There are some tricks that you can try to help it along and help your hair to grow faster.
Get frequent trims. It might seem counterproductive but the best way to help your hair grow is to keep it healthy. You can grow African American hair faster, and help caucasian hair to grow faster by getting rid of split ends which can cause more breakages. Getting rid of the split ends makes your hair look smoother and more voluminous, which can help you make the most of the length you have.
Resist the urge of drastic color changes. If your hair is naturally dark, avoid any dyes that would require bleaching. Bleaching damages the cuticles of the hair, which can lead to more breakage. Breakage is the last thing you want if you’re aiming for longer hair.
Distribute your hair’s natural oils. The oils that are naturally in your hair help to keep it healthy, but they tend to gather at the root, which can lead to oily roots. Distribute the oils throughout your hair so it all benefits. Regular brushing will do this for you. Brush your hair before you go to bed, as well as when you’re getting ready in the morning. Brushing also stimulates the scalp which will help with hair growth too. A boar bristle brush is best for the hair.
Eat healthier. Healthy hair comes from what you fuel your body with, not just the products you use. Protein is the best thing for strong, healthy, long hair, so make sure you eat plenty of fish, beans, nuts and whole grains. If you aren’t getting enough protein, you may experience more hair shedding. Omega 3 is also great for hair, which you can find in oily fish.
Reduce heat styling. Heat styling might make your hair look great, but over time, it can dry it out, increasing the rate of breakage. Try to reduce the number of times you use heat to style your hair. If you’re not going anywhere, towel dries your hair instead of blow-drying it and only heat style when you need to. If you do use heat, make sure you always use a heat protecting spray or serum.
Don’t shampoo your hair every day. Shampooing can strip your hair of its natural oils, so only wash your hair two or three times a week. This allows those all-important oils to penetrate into your hair and make it healthier.
Take a multivitamin. Look for one that is labeled as being good for hair, teeth, and nails. You want something with plenty of vitamin C and vitamin B which both boost hair health. This can also make your skin healthier, as an added bonus. Make a multi-vitamin part of your morning routine.
Finish your shower with cool water. At the end of the shower, turn the temperature down and rinse your hair with cool water. This seals your cuticles and helps to strengthen your hair.

If you remember I had the opportunity to meet the CEO of Pura Vida Tequila & Godsmack, as well as attend the Rockstar UpRoar Music Festival. If you haven’t read about my experience yet, you can read about it here. As part of this experience I also have the opportunity to review Pura Vida Tequila and create recipes using them.
Today’s Recipe is my Hawaiian BBQ Tequila Grilled Chicken Salad. Just the name makes me smile! Who couldn’t use a little tropical taste with this bitter winter we are having. This salad definitely reminds me of summer, and it’s something the whole family loves!
If you are able to grill go ahead and grill your chicken & pineapples, but if your stuck inside it works just fine on the stove as well! I have a pineapple vinaigrette to go with it, but my boys use ranch (yes every time) and it tastes just as good! (printable version below)
Ingredients:
Chicken
3 Large Chicken Breasts
2 Bottles of Hawaiian BBQ Sauce
1/2 Cup Pura Vida Gold Tequilla
Salad
1 Can of Pineapples, drained (unless they are in season and you want to use fresh)
1 head of Lettuce
1/2 bag fresh spinach
2 Tomatos
Vinaigrette
1 Cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup extra light olive oil
1/2 cup white wine vinegar
1/2 Tsp sugar
1/2 Tsp salt
1/4 Tsp red pepper
1 garlic clove, minced
Directions:
Poke some holes into your chicken breasts.
Place chicken breasts into large ziploc or large bowl add in the Hawaiian BBQ Sauce & Pura Vida Tequila. (If you are cooking inside in a skillet you can cut the breast into strips so they get more of the marinade)
Let marinade for at least 8 hours (leave overnight for more flavor)
Toss salad ingredients in large bowl
In a medium bowl, combine all vinaigrette ingredients and whisk until well blended. Chill
Grill up pineapple, or toss around in a skillet till they have “grill marks”
Cut pineapple into bit size bits
Cook your chicken breasts thoroughly
Enjoy your delicious taste of summer!

Whenever you’re working out, it’s important to be mindful of what’s around you. So if you’re doing a group run out in public, be sure to watch any roads or public pathways you cross and ensure you’re wary of those running around you, to make sure you don’t bump into anyone whilst running. Exercising in a gym environment can also have their own dangers so just be aware of who is doing what and making sure you’re giving everyone enough space to workout themselves. These conscious efforts you make can really help to stop you from getting yourself into an accident.
Use Weights Carefully
Weights are great for putting your body through its paces, and it’s important that when using weights, you’re taking care in how you lift them and where you place them down. Think about how heavy they are, and so if you’re not in control of them, you’ll want to start off with a lighter weight that is more manageable. Otherwise, you could end up causing an injury if you drop it by accident and it lands on your foot or the foot of someone else! Always have a rule of putting your weights away when you’re done with them and try to keep to your own space, making sure to have plenty of space around you to avoid any accidents.
Don’t Over Exert Yourself
We all like to challenge ourselves in life, and when it comes to exercising, we may end up pushing ourselves a little too far out of our comfort zone to the point of injury. Over exerting yourself can be dangerous, so it’s important to know your limits and when you’re pushing yourself too far. It’s never going to end well and pushing yourself to a level that you’re not yet comfortable with is only going to damage your body. Try to maintain a level of comfort whenever you’re exercising and only move up a level when your body is ready.
