    Summer, time for fun in the sun and plenty of get together’s! We hosted family and friends over the 4th of July weekend and were able to enjoy some delicious food and of course summertime cocktails! One of the cocktails that was a huge hit was Jägermeister Hunter’s Grog Cocktail Recipe. A mix of the classic Jägermeister you love and plenty of Summertime flavors to add a bit of sunshine to your day.
    Ingredients
    1.5oz Jägermeister
    .5oz Fresh Lemon Juice
    .5oz Black Tea
    1 barspoon Maple Syrup
    1 barspoon Orange Marmalade
    Orange Peel to garnish
    Method
    Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice and give it a few good shakes. Strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice. Garnish with orange peel.

    Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie
    Ingredients
    1 Cup Almond Milk
    1 Banana
    1/4 Cup Peanut Butter
    1/4 Cup Yogurt
    1/4 Cup Ice
    Instructions
    Place all the ingredients in the order listed above into the 24-ounce Nutri Ninja® cup and blend for 30 seconds.

    Buckwheat Pancakes
    Ingredients
    1 cup buttermilk
    1 egg
    3 tablespoons canola oil
    1/2 cup buckwheat flour
    1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon baking soda

    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 tablespoon honey
    Instructions
    Place the buttermilk, egg and canola oil into the 24-ounce Nutri Ninja® cup and blend for 5 seconds. Add the rest of the ingredients except for the honey, and blend for 5 seconds. Add the honey, and blend for 5 more seconds.
    Let batter set for 1 hour.
    On a lightly oiled griddle or sauté pan over medium heat, pour pancake batter in desired size and cook until small bubbles form. Flip and continue cooking until center is puffed and springs back when gently pushed.

    1/4 pear, seeded, cut into chunks 2 large fresh basil leaves with stems removed

    Summer’s here and it’s time for hot temperatures and even hotter styles! As a mom with four kids their needs always come first and rarely do I get new clothes for myself. Well this summer I decided to change that a do a little retail therapy before the south Texas heat really hits.
    I visited my local Kohls, like I do often, but this time I got to buy me things! Even though I am a mom that doesn’t mean I can’t be fashionable..right?! I first did some reasearch online so I knew where I wanted to start. Since it’s been so long that I actually went shopping (not just going in and grabbing a pair of jeans and tee) I wanted to look at what they carried in my size and what was in season this year. I kinda know what they have, just from walking by in the store and glancing on my way to home goods or the boys clothes, but exploring my section was a whole new experience. I found so much I liked but most of the clothes that I was drawn to were the Lauren Conrad collection. I was drawn to several dresses, but then I remembered all the extremely windy days we have down here, and I didn’t feel I wanted to be flashing people while we were out around town…so I went for a cute pair of floral shorts and a white lace and chiffon overlay tank top. I wanted to go with floral, it’s something I usually wouldn’t go for, but let’s face it I need out of my comfort zone of jeans and tees.
    To finish off my outfit I got a pair of cute Gladiator Strappy Flat Sandals by SO and a few accessories by Lauren Conrad. I think I did pretty well considering I never shop for myself! The best part is it was all totaled under $100!! I used a 15% off coupon when I purchased and got a whole outfit for less than $100…plus for every $50 i spent I received $10 Kohl’s cash to spend later in the month. Kohl’s has great fashions for the whole family, I’m just excited I finally get to experience some for myself
