Electronic gadgets are here to stay and my boys love them..electronic toys are very entertaining..with dinosaurs that move and roar, to puppies that play with balls, there is a whole spectrum to choose from. I was recently able to check out the Electrokids & Noomie from WowWee and had a lot of fun trying them out before the kids!
I had some friends over and thought it was a good idea to check out the toys while the kids were at school. First we played with the Electrokids…

We thought this was so much fun…yes three adults laughing and having fun with a “troll doll” whose hair dances to music! Our Elektrokidz hair moved up and down to the beat..you can see in the video below.
Next we pulled out the Noomie..I didn’t know what to think of it at first, but it is really fun! It comes with a 6 accessories…

While visiting LA a few weeks ago, I lived the dream and did so many things that I never imagined doing in my life…one of them included a visit to Disney Toon Studios for the screening the new Tinkerbell and the Legend of the Neverbeast…I’ve loved Tinkerbell since I was little, and yes my boys even buy me Tinkerbell birthday cakes, so I was thrilled to find out we would be interviewing several of the people behind the film.
Later that weekend we returned to DisneyToon Studios to speak with Director – Steve Loter (right) and Producer – Makul Wigert (left)…
While it was Makul’s first Tinkerbell movie, Steve worked on Tinkerbell and the Secret of the Wings…one of my faves!
You might be surprised that the movie that you see now is the same as it was in Steve’s pitch. He knew exactly how he wanted the movie from beginning to the end. It was inspired by his daughter…
My daughter loves one thing above all else, very large dogs, and our neighborhood just has a ton of dogs. So she’ll see a neighbor walking a dog down the street and she’ll run up to the dog and she’ll throw her arms the dog in a big loving hug. And it showed me something you know once the fear subsided, something very important that my daughter has a huge open heart. So I had to sit her down and we had to talk about this encounter we just had with the dog. And she would say, “Well all animals are my friends. Why wouldn’t they be? In fact, the bigger they are the bigger the love they have to give.” And I thought that’s the story. That’s the story. Fawn, the animal town fairy. Loves animals unconditionally. She takes care of animals and she encounters a creature that can be perceived of as a monster and her open heart’s gonna’ be put to the test.
This was a message that he wanted for Fawn, & his daughter to learn to.
It’s beautiful to think with an open heart. To see the world through that prison, through that perspective a wonderful thing, but you also have to think with your head. You need the balance to have a happy life.
Though the film was initially inspired by his daughter, it became so much more..Fawn and her became infused..he used his daughters mannerisms many times for Fawn. But she was also used as inspiration for Calista the bunny..the one that refuses to hop and wants to strut instead. But his daughter isn’t the only one from his family he used for insperation…he used himself for Nyx the Scout Fairy…
Because that’s the helicopter parent that I am.
And the ending, which I’m not giving away, was taken from a moment they’ve had with their dog.
Back to Nyx and the Scout Fairies..they are a new character that was started when Steve was at his daughters gymnastics meet and the girls said..
“We heard you’re working on a fairy movie…Can you make fairies like us? We’re physical. We run, we jump. We, we do all these things. There’s no fairies like us in the movie. Can you make fairies like us?”
So they did just that, the Scout Fairies are very athletic and physical, they even reference par core.
When casting for the movie, they knew right off they wanted Ginnifer Goodwin for the voice of Fawn.
We loved Ginnifer Goodwin and her voice, we knew she was going to be Fawn.
But they needed someone who could contrast the joyful bubbly nature of Fawn,
Then they discovered Rosario for Nyx.
I personally hope we see more of Nyx and hope we get to see further into some the other fairies world. Creating the Neverbeast who is 6′ with fur was quite a challenge so it might be a while till we see another fairies movie on the drawing board.

We all know that babies love to go once they figure out the techniques of it…My 6-year-old had us running. He started crawling early, then we put up diaper boxes around the living area (classy I know), but it was more like and Adventure Course, so he couldn’t escape and run the house….but it wasn’t long after that he was pulling up and walking along them!! He took his actual first steps when he was 8 months and was cruzin pretty good by 9.

It was so easy to put together..and even though he’s now two, my youngest couldn’t wait to get playing, he just loves fish and was excited about that aspect of it the most I think. He did get bored quickly..but he is two and beyond play like that. The most he did was crawl through it and thought that was just the funniest thing.

This week marks the end of my post for the #McFarlandUSAEvent I attended in LA a few weeks ago. This week I get to share a few posts for Tinkerbell and the Legend of the Neverbeast! Before I get to the review, which i’ll have for you tomorrow, I’m going to share my interview with Ginnifer Goodwin, who plays Fawn thee animal fairy.
Now don’t kill me…but I’m going to admit I’m prob the only one on planet earth who didn’t know who she was. I don’t watch any of the shows she’s been on, so I had to do my research before attending the interview. Before we get to the questions, let me say that her pictures do nothing for her, she is strikingly beautiful, and very down to earth. Even though she has already given birth, she still has a glow about her that’s very alluring.
As you know from my other posts about it, I love Tinkerbell, so to get to meet one of the voices behind it was exhilarating.
Q: Do you share any traits with Fawn?
I think I’m always sort of cast for myself , but I think that, I’ve almost only been, yes, cast for the characters that I naturally exhibit. I think optimism and, faith and hope and, love of life. Love of others. I think that Fawn and I are both animated in the same way as it were.
I do think
that I’m certainly cast for being me, absolutely.
Q: Is that your first figure/doll?
I hadn’t thought of that, yes, I think it is
Q: Being that you were pregnant did that help with the emotional levels?
Yeah. Just call me in for like any job that requires crying. I’ve never had a problem being overly emotional. I think that we all sort of I don’t know. I think a lot of actors we’re just sort of like freaks who really conveniently found outlets. I don’t know what I would do if I weren’t an actor because I am such a crybaby. I would just be like that weird cat lady that always crying, but instead I found a career that totally gives me an outlet. Being pregnant was like a whole other level of crying on cue.
She was told by her dr. during her pregnancy that she needed to get off her feet…but that didn’t stop her, Disney made up a bed for her to come in and record on!
I was told by my Doctor I had to get off my feet and they offered to postpone recording but I really wanted to do it so they were like Oh, we got something great. We got something great. And I’m OK. And we go in a Recording Booth and they’ve set me up in a bed in the Recording Booth and it’s covered in like Disney Stuffed Animals. And I got to record from the — the lying down with Disney Stuffed Animals for a couple of sessions and that was so good.
Q: Having a child now – do you think it changes the roles that you take?
I don’t know. Well, ironically I feel like after “Once Upon a Time” I think I need something a little more adult for my own creative satisfaction. Ironically maybe it’s kinda done the opposite where I feel like I have so much imagination in my life now. Because I’m with this youthful creature 24/7, I think that though I will want to for sure take jobs that will make him happy and proud like this one I think will.
Like the rest of the trip this was another amazing experience. A truly genuine and gracious person, I can’t wait to see what else she does..and oh, catch up on what she’s already done!
