You heard right! Netflix has an all new original series that’s making my little guys giddy.
DreamWorks has launched a brand new original Netflix series, Dinotrux, based on award-winning children’s book writer and illustrator Chris Gall’s three-book series of the same name. Aimed at 4-8 year old kids, the series is set in a pre-historic world where enormous hybrid dinosaur / construction vehicles, the Dinotrux, roam the Earth, living, working and sometimes battling with other each other. The Dinotrux world is also populated by another mechanized hybrid species, the tiny Reptools, part reptile, part handtool, that live in constant fear of these gargantuans.
The series brings these and other mechanical beings together in a set of 10 episodes centered around the adventures of Ty, a T-Trux (Tyrannosaurus Rex / Excavator hybrid with massive mechanical jaws and a wrecking-ball tail), forced by an exploding volcano to leave his home, who befriends a lizard / rotary drill hybrid named Revvit – together they convince other Dinotrux and Reptools to work together to build a new home and protect it from D-Structs, a larger and fiercer T-Trux who refuses to share his territory with anyone.
We received a little Dinotrux surprise in the mail and as soon as they saw the hard hat the boys wanted to get to work! The got to work right away working on a Dinotrux puzzle together! Yes Together! Just like the Dinotrux, they worked as a team to complete the puzzle!

This past weekend we were able to grab a portrait session at Portrait Innovations! It has been at least 7 years since we’ve had any kind of photos done professionally…yes that means baby bear wasn’t even born yet! The photos we normally get done are during the holiday season and the places we’ve been, never really make it a fun experience for the kids.

They were decked out with fall decorations, had plenty of plush comfortable seating and even had a Lego table to keep the kids entertained. It wasn’t long before it was out turn in the studio, and to my surprise, the little ones were excited to get going (although they were really waiting to get into their Halloween costumes).
I just loved the fall backdrop, but it’s no surprise since it’s my favorite season. The photographer was very patient with us and was able to get some great photos with the kids smiling! They never smile for me!
