You Share. We Share. With Subway Restaurants ⋆ My Sparkling Life

You Share, We Share with Subway Restaurants: A Generous Initiative

At my home, we are passionate about giving back and helping foundations that are dear to our hearts. The Food Bank of Corpus Christi is one such organization that we greatly appreciate. We make yearly contributions to this foundation with the hope of making someone’s day a little brighter. So, when I was invited by SUBWAY® Restaurants and Social Moms to participate in the “You Share. We Share.” program, I was excited to spread the word about this exceptional organization and how you can help it and other local charities in your area.

The “You Share. We Share.” Initiative

From now until August 31st, SUBWAY® Restaurants have partnered with local charities for the You Share. We Share. program to give back to their communities. Every time you dine at a SUBWAY® Restaurants in the Corpus Christi area over the weekends this summer, a portion of the sales will be allocated to the Food Bank of Corpus Christi, up to a total of $10,000.

More About the Food Bank Of Corpus Christi

Let me tell you a bit more about what the Food Bank Of Corpus Christi does for the community. The Food Bank does more than just distribute food to those in need. They offer a Diabetes Hands-On Program where they conduct free classes on managing diabetes, cooking healthy meals, and promoting an active lifestyle. They have even set up an Aquaponics Garden where they grow their own vegetables, fertilized by fish! This proactive approach ensures our community stays healthy and well-fed.

Join the Initiative

To all our Corpus readers, I encourage you to visit a local SUBWAY® Restaurants franchise (find your store here) this summer to support this wonderful initiative. In doing so, not only will you enjoy a delicious sandwich, but you will also be contributing towards a noble cause. So, let’s make our weekends more meaningful with SUBWAY® Restaurants, and they will share the love right back!

Understanding the “You Share. We Share” Initiative

The “You Share. We Share” initiative by SUBWAY® Restaurants is a remarkable program that embodies the spirit of giving and community service. It’s a campaign that combines the pleasure of eating your favorite Subway sandwich with the joy of contributing to a good cause. The core concept is simple but effective: every time you dine at a participating Subway restaurant, part of the proceeds from your purchase supports a local charity.

Collaboration with Local Charities

SUBWAY® Restaurants has always been committed to being a positive force in the communities they serve. This initiative is a testament to that commitment. By partnering with local charities, they are directly contributing to the welfare of their local communities. In the case of Corpus Christi, the beneficiary of this initiative is the Food Bank of Corpus Christi, an organization that goes beyond simply providing food, offering programs aimed at promoting health, wellness, and self-sustainability.

Impact of the Initiative

This initiative not only raises funds for the selected charities but also raises awareness about the work they do. It encourages more people to get involved, leading to a ripple effect of goodwill that extends far beyond the initial monetary contribution. The goal of $10,000 set by SUBWAY® Restaurants for the Food Bank of Corpus Christi is a substantial amount that can make a significant difference in the lives of those served by the food bank.

  • My Disney Trip To LA | Based on a True Story

Before I get into all the interviews, I want to share my trip outside of the interviews & Screenings. I’m not sure if you all have noticed a change in my site within the last year. I’ve been working on a lot, to bring you more than just product reviews. There are many “product review sites, including review on the sites you shop. I want to bring you more quality content for you to enjoy and read. With that said, let me tell you a little about my trip to LA.
Over the past year I’ve been sharing Movie gems with you, you know the photos, downloads and info on upcoming movies. Well all that has led to me being invited by Disney/ABC to attend a press junket in LA. I was so excited…first off I didn’t even discuss it with my husband first, that’s what I’ve been working towards right? I’m pretty sure I scared the rep with my very excited and short email back (and not professional) my response.. “OMG!!!!!!!!! Yes!!!!”…would you still want me on your press junket!? They were thankfully still happy to have me on board, so I called my hubby and asked him to take off these days so I could live the dream!
I spent the next three weeks preparing for my trip! Sharing with you all on here, and social media…shopping for plane friendly shampoos, and new nice clothing since I pretty much only wear tee shirts that hubby brings home from work…yea, pretty lame hu?
The day finally arrived and I was already exhausted, as I didn’t get much sleep that night..come on, it’s like Christmas morning! I was a little anxious and didn’t know what to expect when flying..it’s been 14 years, yes since the summer before 9/11, since I had flown…It really wasn’t that bad, our airport is pretty small so it didn’t take long at all to get through security so I could sit for the next hour. It was an 45 min flight to Houston where I sat for another hour till it was time to load up the plane headed to LA! FINALLY!
After the three-hour flight, I battled with 5 other planes of people to get my bag then set off to find my blogger friends and our driver..it took us two go arounds at the airport to collect everyone, it was a bit crazy because the fog in LA had delayed flights in. Once we were all gathered we headed towards the hotel…and this is how it went…
FINALLY after almost 2 hours we made it to the Shareton Universal Hotel..
Checked in, and ordered room service before we had to meet in the lobby to head off on our first screening of McFarland, USA at the El Capitan Theater on the Disney Studio Lot. I’m not going to tell you about the movie, but I will link it here once my review goes up on 2/20, release day!!
We also got to wonder around Legends Plaza, “Disney Walk of Fame” which was pretty cool! Plus I got to see where Walt Disney’s office was…super surreal moment!
The next day we didn’t have to meet until 11:30, which I hear is a real luxury on these trips…so Dina from My Un-Entitled Life and I took a walk over to the Universal City Walk to check out the shops and eat some lunch.
Once at the Universal City Walk, we battled through several tour groups and made our way into the shopping strip..it was pretty cool with all the Universal themed restaurants and larger than life features. We ended up at Johnny Rockets because neither one of us had eaten their before and they had a variety of foods to eat…ok, a variety of american foods to eat.
At 11:30 we loaded the bus for a busy day of interviews and screenings! We headed off to the W Hotel to do a few interviews for Big Hero 6! We were blessed enough to interview Scott Adsit, the voice of Baymax..yes we did get him to do the voice!! Then we interviewed Ryan Potter, voice of Hiro, & Daniel Henney, Voice of Tadashi…Plus Directors Don Hall & Chris Williams.
After laughing at many of their answers to our questions we were able to see a presentation, hosted by Director Patrick Osborne, of a behind the scenes of the making of FEAST (an animated short) that will be bonus content on the Big Hero 6 DVD/Blu-ray.
*Update* Congrats to both Big Hero 6 & Feast for taking home Oscars!
After this we hopped on the bus to head back to the Walt Disney Studios lot to do a little shopping before we headed over to the ABC TV Building to have dinner with & interview the Writer & Executive Producer of Fresh Off The Boat, Nahnatchka Kahn. During dinner we screened the two episodes that will air tomorrow on ABC at 8..trust me you don’t want to miss them! Super funny stuff! Then we were able to interview the adorable Ian Chen, who plays Evan Huang & Forrest Wheeler, who plays Emery Huang.
Then over to Disney Toon Studios to screen “Tinkerbell And The Legend Of The Neverbeast”!! I love Tinkerbell by the way, just thought you should know..
Ahh Saturday, you would think it would be sleeping in, sunshine and rainbows…umm, no of course not…my body woke me up at 6:30, so I got up and ordered some room service, so delish waffles and fresh fruit…then headed down to meet everyone at 9.
We once again headed to the W hotel…only today it was to do interview for McFarland USA! We first were thrilled to interview the real life Diaz brothers & Coach Jim White. Then Director Niki Caro…then wait for it…KEVIN COSTNER…and the super funny & awesome runners Carlos Pratts (Thomas Valles), Hector Duran (Johnny Sameniego), Sergio Avelar (Victor Puentes), Johnny Ortiz (Jose Cardenas), Rafael Martinez (David Diaz), Michael Aguero (Damacio Diaz) & Ramiro Ramirez (Danny Diaz).
After these AMAZING interviews we headed back to Disney Toon Studios ate some lunch, and started on our Tinkerbell and the Legend of the Neverbeast interviews…Story Artist Ryan Green & Animation Supervisor Mike Greenholt, Music Supervisor Brett Swain & Bleu (Featured Instrumentalist), the ever so talented and gorgeous Ginnifer Goodwin, & Director Steve Loter & Producer Makul Wigert.
Then we headed off to eat dinner at Don Cuco Mexican Restaurant..if you are ever in the Burbank area, this place was awesome!
After dinner we headed over the Disney Channel to Screen Bad Hair Day with Leigh-Allyn Baker then sit down and interview her.
With a trip like this, I bet your thinking why would you ever leave…well that day just comes and you say goodbye to your new-found friends and head back to stay at home mom reality. I missed my babies so, and was happy to fly back to hug them. Hopefully I’ll get invited back some day for another adventure with Disney/ABC.
