A classic in the world of homemade cookies, sugar cookies are a great way to start off your Valentine’s Day morning. Simple, chewy, delicious and oh-so-addictive, bring a plate of these up to your sweetheart’s bedside and watch their eyes light up. Sugar cookies have a soft center, a crunchy outer rim and a great uplifting layer of royal icing. It’s one of the easiest cookies to make. Follow this 7-step process to make your own at home. This cookie has one secret up its sleeve. You can customize the recipe to whatever you like. As you mix the cookie dough, take the opportunity to throw in any kind of extract you want. The most popular is vanilla extract, but alternatively, you can use, lemon extract, orange zest, lime zest, pumpkin spice and a generous shaving of nutmeg.
Serve with a wholesome cup of coffee or perhaps a glass of milk for breakfast. Yes, that’s right, breakfast! You’ll get the dosage of sugar you need to go to work but your belly will be filled will love and appreciation; in the form of sugar cookies.
One could make a convincing argument, that there is no better expression of love than food. To make something with your own hands, taking care at the stage of the cooking process and then presenting it to your loved one in order to satisfy them, is such a wonderful gift. Homemade chocolate bars might sound simple, but you can add anything to them. Melt bars of white chocolate, throw in some butter and crushed roasted hazelnuts. Allow this mixture to set on non-stick baking sheets, on a baking tray and leave it to set in the fridge.

For the outer shell, melt around 500-700g of white chocolate melting wafers, or if you don’t have that use chips. A little lemon extract, butter to keep it rich and smooth and add in a few crushed pistachio nuts if you like. Melt this together and then begin cutting the cake into small cubes while it’s still hot out of the oven. Roll the pieces of cake into a ball and dip them into your chocolate. Wait for them to dry and then splash them with a little milk chocolate dusting. Serve with champagne and enjoy this mouth-watering dessert by the candles.

Last Thursday in the small town of Hollywood there was a little event that I was able to attend. If you’re a Pirates of the Caribbean fan, you know what I’m talking about! Walking the red carpet, or in this case teal, will never get old! There is so much energy and always something new and exciting!
As we rounded the corner we were instantly thrust into the Hollywood world. Screaming fans, lots of themed props and dressed up characters. The main attraction, well centerpiece, of this carpet was a giant “stone structure” that leads into the Devils Triangle…like it was popped straight from the movie and slapped with the logo for Dead Men Tell No Tales.
As we are walking we are greeted by juggling pirates on stilts, and plenty of scallywags and wenches. It’s hard not to get in on the fun and yell out arrrr. We grabbed a few photos then headed up the Oscar stairs into the Dolby theater & the pre-party.

I attended an all-expense-paid trip by Disney, all opinions are 100% my own.

As parents we are always searching for a new twist on something the kids already love! In today’s Make It Monday, I’m going to show you how to make a Bacon Cheeseburger Pie! 2 Cups Shredded Cheese (I use Cheddar, but you can use whatever you like) 1 Cup diced bacon bits (or store bought bacon bits) Lettuce Shreds (for garnish) Brown hamburger meat, drain Cook bacon (if your doing fresh bacon) Whisk your eggs in a bowl Add in your cheese (save a little for top sprinkling), diced bacon bits, and hamburger meat Divide into two sprayed pie pans Sprinkle top with remaining cheese Bake in oven at 400* for 25-30 min or until egg is done Garnish top with tomato dices & lettuce shreds I decided to do a side salad instead of all the garnish. This is one of the kids favorite meals, plus its easy to make and easy on the pocket book!
Its easy to make it with ground turkey & turkey bacon too!
