Must watch this DVD is…this DVD combines two of my favorite things…legos & star wars! Disney and Lucasfilm have released a DVD collection for LEGO Star Wars: The New Yoda Chronicles. If you’re familiar with any of the animated LEGO movies or shows, you have an idea what this is like. You get a mix of seeing all your favorite Star Wars characters, in LEGO form, combined with the humor you would expect in a LEGO show.
I sat down to watch this while the boys were at school, and found myself giggling and into every bit!
The DVD consists of four 23-minute episodes. Each continuing the story from the episode before it. While the first episode does feature a sort of flashback to the time right after Episode III, the main story takes place after the events of Episode IV. The idea is to find the Jedi Holocrons so Luke Skywalker can continue his Jedi training. The problem is, he’s not the only one after them. Darth Vader is also trying to locate them as well.
After headstrong Luke nearly delivers the good guys into Palpatine’s clutches, Master Yoda and the ghost of Obi-Wan Kenobi unearth the Holocrons – last remnants of the secrets of the Jedi – to further Luke’s training. But Darth Vader also seeks the Holocrons, and he’ll stop at nothing to get to them first! Meanwhile, courageous superclone Jek-14, a Force-sensitive clone, comes out of retirement to help bolster the Rebels. Share all the action-packed thrills of these interlocking, intergalactic adventures in LEGO® STAR WARS: The New Yoda Chronicles!
Episode IV: Escape from the Jedi Temple (23:00)
The heroes need to escape from Vader and Star Destroyers. Flashback to right after Episode III. Obi-Wan,Yoda, and Bail Organa have to retrieve the Jedi Holocrons from the Jedi Temple so Luke can be trained.
Episode V: Race for the Holocrons (22:59)
The Holocrons have been hidden but someone else might find it before Luke. We see some familiar locations. Han goes to Dagobah, Luke returns to Tatooine and comes across Watto.
Episode VI: Raid on Coruscant (23:01)
Vader has to head back to Tatooine. Jek-14 arrives to help Luke and the others. A mission is set up to journey to Coruscant to try to retrieve the Holocrons.
Clash of the Skywalkers (23:01)
Luke’s death is faked to throw off Darth Vader. Han, Chewie, and C-3PO go to Hoth to set up a new base for the Alliance. Luke tries to make sense of the Holocron crystal he has.

I really enjoyed this DVD and I know the boys will too! It had a good story with plenty of comedy.
LEGO Star Wars: The New Yoda Chronicles was released on September 15 & retails for $19.99 but I’ve seen it available for as low as $16.95. Star Wars and LEGO fans should definitely check this out.

As parents we are always searching for a new twist on something the kids already love! In today’s Make It Monday, I’m going to show you how to make a Bacon Cheeseburger Pie! 2 Cups Shredded Cheese (I use Cheddar, but you can use whatever you like) 1 Cup diced bacon bits (or store bought bacon bits) Lettuce Shreds (for garnish) Brown hamburger meat, drain Cook bacon (if your doing fresh bacon) Whisk your eggs in a bowl Add in your cheese (save a little for top sprinkling), diced bacon bits, and hamburger meat Divide into two sprayed pie pans Sprinkle top with remaining cheese Bake in oven at 400* for 25-30 min or until egg is done Garnish top with tomato dices & lettuce shreds I decided to do a side salad instead of all the garnish. This is one of the kids favorite meals, plus its easy to make and easy on the pocket book!
Its easy to make it with ground turkey & turkey bacon too!

Bagheera is a sleek panther who feels it’s his duty to help the man-cub depart with dignity when it’s time for him to leave his jungle home.
“Bagheera is Mowgli’s adoptive parent,” says Ben Kingsley, who lends his voice to Bagheera. “His role in Mowgli’s life is to educate, to protect and to guide. My Bagheera was military—he’s probably a colonel. He is instantly recognizable by the way he talks, how he acts and what his ethical code is.”

Lupita Nyong’o voices Raksha, a mother wolf who cares deeply for all of her pups—including man-cub Mowgli, whom she adopts as one of her own when he’s abandoned in the jungle as an infant.
“She is the protector, the eternal mother,” says Nyong’o. “The word Raksha actually means protection in Hindi. I felt really connected to that, wanting to protect a son that isn’t originally hers but one she’s taken for her own.”

Akela is the strong and hardened alpha-male wolf who shoulders the responsibility of his pack. He welcomes Mowgli to the family, but worries he may one day compromise their safety.
“Akela is a fierce patriarch of the wolf pack,” says Giancarlo Esposito, who voices the character. “He believes the strength of the pack lies in what each and every wolf offers. He’s a great leader, a wise teacher.”

Our adventure doesn’t stop there…We are also getting the privilege to check out a Disney XD special screening of the hilarious new hidden camera-practical joke series Walk the Prank.
Featuring live-action scripted comedy interspersed with fully produced unscripted pranks, the show follows an ensemble cast as they plan and execute hilarious over-the-top pranks for an online hidden camera show.
We will also be visiting the Paramount Studios where we will be viewing the production for an upcoming episode (hope the pranks not on us!!) as well as interviewing members of the Walk the Prank cast.

It doesn’t matter whether it’s your 1st baby, or your 6th…we all have trouble telling whether it’s true labor or not. I know for each of my boys it was different, and Braxton hicks sure feel a lot like the first stage { 0-4 } of true labor…Here is a guide to help you determine whether or not it’s truly Miracle Time!
I’ve been told a few things about false labor… first, if you drink a couple glasses and lay down on your left side false labor should let up. Second, if you walk, the contractions will get stronger if it is real labor. I can say that with false labor a couple glasses of water and a nap will take care of them for me. The walking part hasn’t been as true for me… and since every woman is different it is hard to be sure.
I have found the only reliable way to know whether or not it is true labor is time. You will either continue to have contractions – or they will fade out and stop. It’s always good to ask your doctor when s/he would like you to call when you think you are in labor. Generally, all doctors say to call if you think you may be in labor before 37 weeks, but after that time your doctor will probably tell you to call when your contractions are 5-7 minutes apart and have been for over an hour.
When did you know you were in “true” labor?

I grew up going to car shows pretty often, and back then they were pretty big events held in the local city auditorium. It’s been years since we attended an car show, so I was pretty excited when hubby came home the other day and told me about one that they were going to have one here.
I also grew up with my dad building and restoring old cars, so yeap, my first car was a 1978 Cheverolet Camero. I sure do miss my car (long story) but we had some great times through high school and collage.

Okay, so if you ask me about cars, i’m pretty clueless, I really just like to look…and even though I was a bit disappointed in the size of the “show” the cars were pretty awesome and the boys really enjoyed checking them out…

Hopefully I can continue to enjoy small things like these with my boys! After all its about the fun with the family more than the size of the event.

I have been such a huge Disney fan since I was a child..I have now passed this love of the magic that Disney brings to my kids! Last night we attended the opening night of Disney On Ice 100 Year of Magic at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Tx. The closer we got to the even the more excitement filled the truck. We reached the American Bank Center and met up with our giveaway winners to give them there passes to attend. I could see the excitement in their children’s faces too.

As we entered the event center the glow of the toys at the concession stands, the Disney memorabilia throughout the building and the staff who had that radiant glow and energy of Disney cast members provided you with a true feeling of being at Disney World. You could feel the Disney magic oozing everywhere!

We wound our way through the crowds and excited children to our seats where we all sat in a row with excited children bouncing on the seat taking in the glow of the ice and the sounds of the vendors walking around selling goodies. The first thing that you notice is the gigantic castle wall at the one end of the ice. Closer observation revealed the film strip accents that adorned the edges of the ice with the corners being the film reels. As you look around at the other families you see just as much excitement and many of the children dressed in their favorite characters’ costumes and outfits.

All of a sudden it was show time! Mickey and Minnie came out and began to host the evening and set the stage for what was to be a truly magical evening. I could here my four year old squeal with excitement over the roar of all the kids screaming. The show truly brought 100 years of Disney to the ice in so many ways. The show ranged from bringing new Disney movies and characters to the ice like those from Toy Story, Lilo & Stitch all the way back to Pinocchio and even Jiminy Cricket. They were even able to bring “It’s a Small World” to the ice and truly feel that you were at Disney World. I won’t reveal all that the show has to offer but will say that the surprises, the thrills of the performers and the excitement was non-stop. There were a few things that made this show so wonderful:
For our family, the experience was beyond magical. My 4 year old was on the edge of his seat most of the night and kept cheering, singing, and truly feeling as a part of the show with the characters. As parents, it nearly brought us to tears to us to see how much happiness the magic of Disney brought to our family throughout the entire show from beginning to end. My four year old slept with his Mickey Mouse crown (with ears) last night and went off to school talking all about it this morning! I hope he doesn’t drive them crazy. Overall, I would go see this show again and again and thank Disney for putting together such an amazing show and bringing the magic and world of Disney to those that can’t travel to them! Buy Mickey!
