Every day, we go about our daily routines and rarely think about what others are going through. For the most part, I don’t think that it’s not that we don’t care…I think we get too busy, or just don’t know what we can do or how to even get started helping.
Over the past 5 years, in my time blogging, I’ve worked with a few companies that are really trying to make a difference in the world. But it takes people like you and me to step up and help these companies help the world. Recently I followed along as my friend Leanette from FUNtastic Life visited the Dominican Republic where she learned all about the ways World Vision (#WVBloggers) impacts the community. While there she was able to meet a child and tell him that she would be his sponsor! Following her journey reminded me of when I was little and my family sponsored a child. I loved writing back and forth with her and knowing that we were helping her and her family have better lives. Today it’s much easier to help here and around the world, you just need to know where to start! Below are 5 ways you can give back for our futures sake!
Volunteer! This is the #1 best way to be hands on and give back to our community and others around the world. I was recently introduced to VolunteerMatch & Cross-Cultural Solutions…both a great way to step up locally and abroad. Children are my life! They are our future and too many are in debilitating situations that are out of their control.
Sponsor a Child! World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. Purchase a “Gift”! I’ve shared this option with you in the past posts from World Vision & BeadForLife. Host A Fund Raising Event! Get together with friends & family to host a small or community fund raising event for a charity that’s close to your heart. Imagine how many gifts you could buy, how much research could be done or how many people you could get to sponsor a child by just showing them where to start!

This morning at 9am EST, Rolls-Royce publicly revealed its latest creation, the Rolls-Royce Dawn drophead coupe, in an online global webcast event this morning ahead of the Frankfurt Auto Show from their factory in Goodwood, England.
After the darkness comes Dawn. Its striking silhouette transformed at a touch, its inviting interior opened to the elements – to friends, to the unexpected, to endless possibilities. Dawn lives in the moment. The moment is now.
Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös gave Robb Report an exclusive preview of the Dawn during the 2015 Monterey Car Week in August.
Deliveries of the Dawn are set to begin in April 2016.

Dawn is powered by a 563 hp V-12 that generates 575 ft lbs of torque.
Its 8-speed transmission uses GPS data to select the optimal gear.
The chassis is adapted from the marque’s Wraith and Ghost models.
Rolls-Royce’s new Dawn has taken inspiration from the 1950’s Silver Dawn
The new 2+2 convertible is a departure from the rest of the company’s current lineup. Smaller than the two-door Wraith, but slightly longer than the four-door Ghost Series II, the beating heart and soul of any Rolls-Royce motor car is the beloved twin-turbo 6.6-litre V12 powertrain. With a power output of 563bhp or 420kW @ 5,250rpm and a torque rating of 780Nm or 575 lb ft @ 1,500rpm, Dawn’s driving experience is exceptional.
Rolls-Royce’s new Dawn has taken inspiration from the Silver Dawn — a small, lightweight Rolls-Royce produced between 1950 and 1954, whilst delivering a world first in super-luxury motoring – a cool, contemporary interpretation of what a super-luxury four-seater convertible motor car should be in 2015 – rare, refined and the most social super-luxury car there is. Like the Silver Dawn, today’s Dawn drophead coupe was designed for those who want to drive, rather than to be driven. The new Dawn also represents a shift in the brand’s nomenclature, from names drawn from the supernatural to a sunnier, more optimistic denotation.

As with every Rolls-Royce, the Dawn can be customized in a seemingly infinite array of colors, finishes, and materials. The company has been quietly taking orders for the car over the past few months, with production slated to begin in February 2016 and deliveries scheduled to begin in April. While Rolls-Royce has not stated exactly how many Dawn dropheads it will sell, Shepherd stresses that the car will remain exclusive.

As a world travel wannabe having kids, I’m always looking for a great hotel that will not only accommodate our large family, but also provide activities the whole family can enjoy. Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort, an all-inclusive family friendly property on the island of Vanua Levu, Fiji. The hotel boasts the following unique family friendly offerings, in addition to luxury accommodations.
The award-winning Bula Club, featuring a daily program of children’s resort activities that are fun, educational and cultural. Bula Club offers two levels of vacation activities to meet the differing needs and competencies of toddlers, children and adolescents: the Lei Lei Bula Club Program, for children 0 to 5 years old, and the Marau Bula Club Program, for kids ages 6 to 12. Parents are welcome and encouraged to participate, too!
Every child under the age of five years old is assigned to a designated nanny (at a ratio of 1:1) for the duration of their stay, at no extra charge.
At Bula Club, young guests enjoy a range of activities such as rock pool exploration, hiking, glass-bottom boat excursions, swimming and more. The resort’s dedicated marine biologist, Johnny, guides Bula Club exploratory outings, providing a delightful educational experience for children. Bula Club’s dining area offers a fresh, healthy, tasty children’s menu prepared on-site to order.
For children whose curiosities lean more towards the kitchen than the sandbox, the resort offers “Chef’s Junior Assistant”, where children of all ages enjoy a range of fun, educational and cultural activities. Kids aged 6 to 12 have the opportunity to help create a meal start to finish, assisting with the preparation, plating and serving. Kids sign up for the program ahead of time and have the opportunity to suggest the meal for the day (participants’ favorite foods are taken into consideration!); if chosen, their suggestion could end up on that day’s menu. The “Junior Assistants” – equipped with a chef’s jacket and hat – receive a kitchen briefing on safety and hygiene, take a tour of the organic garden with the Chef, hand-picking herbs and garnishes, and assist the Chef with final preparations, plating and serving of the meals to the Bula Club. The program is offered every day to one or two kids per meal period, typically for lunch.
The Teens Program at Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort is run separately to the Bula Club by the Activities department of the resort, whereby an Activities staff member takes on the role of buddy and mentor for the teenagers in-house.
The Teens Program is less structured than the Bula Club program, allowing greater flexibility for the teens to participate in the daily schedule of activities with the adults as well as having a series of activities specifically tailored to the teenagers on different days. Activities that the teenagers are encouraged to participate in or are specifically designed for them through the week include:
Scuba Diving orientation in the Serenity pool
Snorkeling trip to dive site called “Shark Alley”
Coral Planting with Johnny Singh, the on-staff marine biologist
Volleyball lessons
Fijian language lessons
Walk to the local village, learning their spearfishing, farming and having a game of volleyball with the teens in the village
Trip to the Mangroves and mangrove planting with Johnny Singh
Bonfire on the beach with a guitar, playing and singing
Medicine walk learning about the Fijian’s medicinal uses of plants around the resort
Rainforest Hike to a waterfall and rubber tube down the river
Land Crab trap making and catching land crabs
Bamboo raft making and sailing
Hand line fishing
