The holidays for me brings on baking…It’s a fun thing that my mom and me do together every year, and every year I like to try something new! This year I created a delicious Salted Caramel Brownie Brittle English Toffee. I was inspired by Brownie Brittle’s Salted Caramel snacks & Brownie Brittle’s Toffee snacks.

Brownie Brittle has been enjoyed by our family for a few months as we had found it in World Market and thought we would give it a try. Brownie Brittle sent me their NEW 1oz Single Serve Bags which features Paddington – hitting theaters January 16th – in Chocolate Chip & Salted Caramel, which started my inspiration for the “English” toffee I’m about to share with you.
They also sent me the Toffee Crunch which is a great side snack to the Salted Caramel Brownie Brittle English Toffee.

Now the recipe you’ve been waiting for!
INGREDIENTS
Toffee
1 cup butter 1 cup sugar 2 tablespoons water 1/8 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
8 ounces chocolate bark
Topping
1/4 cup pecans, finely chopped 1/4 cup Brownie Brittle, finely chopped 1/2 tsp Corse Sea Salt
Caramel Drizzle
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350F. Toast the chopped pecans on a baking sheet in the oven for 6 to 8 minutes, or until fragrant.
With heavy-duty aluminum foil, form a 10-inch square shell with 1-inch high sides. Place the foil shell on a baking sheet, and set aside.
In a heavy saucepan, cook the butter, sugar, water, and salt over medium heat until the temperature reaches 305F (hard-crack stage), stirring occasionally (watch closely after it reaches 290F because the temperature will increase rapidly). When the mixture becomes dark golden brown, immediately remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract. Pour the mixture into the foil shell. It will spread but may not reach the edges of the square. Skore toffee with back of knife to help the chocolate stick. Cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, or until hard. Wipe off any access liquid that may have puddled on the top.
Melt the chocolate according to instructions on the side of package. Spread melted chocolate over the cooled toffee, and sprinkle with the pecans, & Brownie Brittle pressing lightly to set into chocolate. Drizzle with caramel & sprinkle corse sea salt. Let set at room temperature 1 hour, or until the chocolate is set. Break toffee into pieces. Store covered at room temperature for up to 1 month.

I’ve always been a huge Disney fan. Movies, Park, Music…I love it all! I’ve had several collections of their music, so when I heard there was a new CD coming out, We Love Disney, with current artists redoing classic Disney songs, I knew I had to check it out. With artists like Gwen Stefani, Ariana Grande, and Rascal Flatts, how could you go wrong?!
I really enjoyed listening to this album and can’t wait to own it! We Love Disney will be released in several configurations, including as a digital album, a standard CD, a Deluxe CD, on Deluxe Vinyl, and as a picture-disc set.
Verve Records and Walt Disney Records brought together 12 top artists for the upcoming compilation album We Love Disney, which will be released on October 30th. Some of my favorites: “Friend Like Me“, “Part of Your World“, “I Wanna Be Like You“, “Colors of the Wind“, “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes” (one of my all time favorite songs anyways), & “It’s A Small World“. I know…if I keep going it would be the whole album…but I really love them all!

Did you know that there are 9 Bras that every girl needs?! This is new to me…lol..I own a few types, an underwire (you know the uncomfortable one that you can’t wait to take off when you get home) in full coverage & demi, a couple sport bra types…my fave, but not so much the hubbies. But I’m pretty clueless when it comes to finding the right bras.

I love the information the info graphic gives on what each bra type is for. That is extremely helpful for someone searching for just the right thing! I usually go into the bra sections and walk out without anything, the selections can be overwhelming and if you don’t even have a clue what you are looking for it’s even worse! I plan on hitting the store for a few of these now that I know what to wear with what. The Layering Bra is definitely one on my list! But first thing’s first…the after baby sizing..ugh!

Halloween is one of my families favorite holidays. Everyone looks forward to dressing up, pumpkin treats & of course the epic movie nights! My kids love movie nights, and since we’ve moved up by family after Harvey’s devastation…we have even more kids to invite over for the fun! We usually pick out a family favorite or holiday themed movie and then make delicious snacks to go along with it. We’ve had the unfortunate happen once or twice as we couldn’t find a DVD we were wanting to watch…but now with technology changing and making things easier, we’ve started to watch & store all of our movies online. The only minor problem was that we had movies scattered out between Amazon, Google, iTunes & Vudu. Now there is a new service that brings all of our movies together on one platform! Movies Anywhere!
With Halloween being this week we decided on a Harry Potter movie night! Since the kids’ ages ranged from 4-16 it was a great choice, plus I could have fun with the food! Three of my nieces & nephews had not seen Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone yet, so I had to make this movie night extra special! Movies Anywhere took care of my movie & I took care of the decor, food & take home wands. Yes, you heard that right, I made everyone their own wand! Now I got the idea of Pinterest, so I can’t take the credit…but I will say they were super fun to make!
For the wands you will need:
Chopsticks
Hot Glue
Black Spray Paint
Brown Spray Paint
Copper Spray Paint
I added hot glue to the chopsticks to give each one it’s individuality. Once dried I sprayed 6 of them black & 6 of them brown. You need to let them dry between coats or flipping the chopstick over. Once the solid color covers the surface & is dry you can either stipple with the copper spray paint or carefully spray in short bursts to give the wands an aged look. Finish off with a clear sealer or leave as is.
Now let’s talk food! I made golden snitches with Ferrero Rocher & a wing printable I found on Pinterest. There are plenty to choose from, but I loved the ones I used. I cut up some gummy worms to make slugs, set our Dementor Relief bars & put out M&M’s in the house colors. My favorites were the Polyjuice Potion Deviled Dragons Eggs (recipe below) & the simple Butterbeer! We also made some simple sorting hats with sugar cookies, ice cream cone, icing (to bind) & filled with M&M’s of house color.
For the Polyjuice Potion Deviled Dragons Eggs you will need:
18 Eggs
4 Bacon Strips Diced (Shredded Boomslang skin)
3/4c Ranch Dressing (Stewed Lacewing Flies)
Food Coloring
Dried Cilantro (Fluxweed)
Instructions:
Hard Boil your eggs & let cool
Roll your eggs around until they have cracks all the way around
Die them as you would your Easter eggs
Let dry
Cook diced bacon strips until desired consistency (we cooked these a little less to give them some flexibility like skin)
Peel shells off of eggs
Cut your eggs in half and remove yolks
Mash up yolks in a bowl & add ranch
Mix well
Add in Green food coloring
Mix well
Pipe or drop yolk mixture by spoonful back into egg halves
Top with cilantro & bacon dices
Enjoy!
TIP: You can add cilantro & bacon bits into the mixture for more flavor & texture.
