Editorial Standards

My Sparkling Life has been publishing since 2015, and the way we put a post together hasn’t changed much in that time: research it properly, write it honestly, and fix it when we get something wrong. This page explains what that looks like in practice.

How We Research

Every post starts with research, not guesswork. When we make a factual claim, we check it against reputable sources: government and public health resources, established brands and manufacturers, primary sources, and other people who’ve genuinely done the thing we’re writing about. If a claim can’t be backed up, it gets cut or softened rather than left in as filler.

Who Writes Our Content

Posts on My Sparkling Life are written from a real family’s lived experience, recipes we’ve cooked, trips we’ve taken, products we’ve actually used. The site is written under the byline Olivia, a mom of three, and has been since 2015. We’re not credentialed experts in medicine, law, or finance, and we don’t pretend to be. Where a topic calls for that kind of expertise, we say so and point you toward someone qualified to give it.

Keeping Things Accurate Over Time

Advice, prices, product availability, and even best practices change. We revisit older posts periodically to update information that’s gone stale, correct anything that’s wrong, and remove recommendations that no longer hold up. A post published years ago may have been edited since to reflect what’s current now, rather than what was true when it first went live. If you spot something outdated or inaccurate, we want to know, see the note below.

Affiliate Links and Sponsored Content

Some posts contain affiliate links, including through the Amazon Associates program, and occasionally we publish sponsored or compensated content. Any post that includes a paid partnership discloses it, and full details live on our Disclosure page. Compensation never determines our opinion of a product.

A Note on Health and Wellness Content

My Sparkling Life covers health and wellness topics from time to time, as part of everyday family life, not from a clinical or medical standpoint. These posts are general information only, not medical advice, and they are not written or reviewed by medical professionals. Always talk to a qualified doctor or healthcare provider about your own or your family’s health, especially before making any medical decision.

Corrections

We would rather fix a mistake than defend one. If you notice an error, an outdated recommendation, or anything that needs a second look, reach out through our Contact page and we will take a look.
